The University of New Hampshire

The University of New Hampshire Coastal Carbon Group operates and maintains several buoys in the western Gulf of Maine including a sentinel ocean acidification monitoring buoy.

The University of New Hampshire Coastal Carbon Group has been actively involved with NERACOOS and Gulf of Maine ocean observing since 2004.  They operate three state-of-the-art buoys in the western Gulf of Maine including a directional wave measurement buoy in Jeffreys Ledge, a nutrient and water quality buoy in Great Bay NH, and a sentinel ocean acidification and ocean CO2 monitoring buoy near the Isles of Shoals.   The UNH team built and maintains these platforms and is also involved in testing and research related to expanded ecosystem monitoring and process studies in the region.
